Song Title
”I was afraid that my music would become something I never intended it to become. I was concerned that the musicians involved in the recording would not invest themselves and treat it like any other day at the office.”
”After my first conversation with producer Jeff Thomas, I told my wife Sheila, ‘I cannot do this, no matter how great the opportunity’. She immediately called me on my prideful attitude and encouraged me to pray before saying no.”
”As usual, Sheila was right. After prayer and discernment, I realized that the only reason I had not to do it was my pride. I decided to die to myself and go for it!”
”All of my fears were completely unfounded and in fact, I now believe it was nothing more than spiritual warfare. The whole experience turned out to be fantastic! The musicians who played on the recording were some of the most genuine, sincere and involved people I've ever met. I can't wait for everyone to hear it!”
Innocence reflects Muglia’s personal journey as a husband and father and on the most precious truths of the Catholic faith — the Eucharist, Mary, the Communion of Saints — he wrote these 11 original songs to reach both the faithful and those who have wandered from the fold, knowing that God is there for us always, no matter where we are He wants us back. This is the theme of the song “Faithful.” This tune underscores Muglia’s vocal talent with a tender message about friendship between God and man, a theme echoed in the song “I Am Blest,” as well. It’s a slightly country tune (it was recorded in Nashville) giving praise to God for being able to sing. Being aware of God is the idea behind “We Need To Know Our Maker,” a song with a great beat. Muglia has a sound that is much like that of Tom Booth or Matt Maher. Speaking of Maher, he helped out in many ways with this CD, co-writing the song "Masterpiece" with Muglia and helping with arrangements for “Your Will Be Done.”
My surprise came when listening to the first track, called “With All Your Strength.” It's an awesome song with lots of power behind it asking us to praise His Holy Name. (The tune sounds a bit like an old song by the group The Professionals, called “Kick Down The Door.”) Chris Muglia knows that some of the teachings of the Church are not easily understood or believed. The title track "Innocence" speaks of the peace that comes to those who accept and believe with the innocent faith of a child. Let us all let the child in us lead us.
