Song Title
"It's a tongue in cheek commentary on our 'fast-food mentality' and how we apply that to God. I think many want God to be like a fast food place: quick, easy, and cheap. Following God takes a lifetime, requires great courage and strength, and costs everything you have. But the banquet He offers is worth it."
Mike Ofca, lead guitarist, compares the new CD with their previous release, "Unfinished": "The last one was an experiment. It was the first time we wrote songs together, and tried some different styles. Based on the enormously positive feedback, we took the best sounds from the Unfinished CD and made a full length album out of them."
Gone from the band is Bob Lesnefsky, a.k.a. Righteous B, and with him went the hip-hop sound that was featured in some songs of the previous release. Says Rice, "It was a natural thing. (Lesnefsky) really got into his Righteous B sound and didn't feel like he had anything to contribute to the new CD. And we felt more comfortable getting back to our roots of lyrically driven rock and roll."
At a time when most Catholic and Christian artists are solo acts, Backyard Galaxy offers a new sound of collaborative songwriting and musicianship. Fusing pop melodies with a rock sound, "Drive-Thru Jesus" delivers thoughtful messages fueled with fun music.
