“From One Generation to The Next” features contemporary arrangements of music based on the liturgy. This album makes for exciting, easy listening, spiritual meditation and is a great resource for those involved in spreading the faith to young people.

Each of the songs sets out to capture the meaning and depth of the parts of the Mass that sometimes pass us by. For example, “Into Your Hands” explains the offertory, and “We Are Here to Receive” communicates the Catholic teaching of the Real Presence in the Eucharist.

The album has got a wonderful celebratory and uplifting feel to it. It is difficult to sit still when listening to tracks like “Bendito seas Señor” (Blessed Be God Forever), with its Spanish lyrics and rhythms, and “If We Can Live in Harmony.”

“Go Out and Tell the World,” the final song on the CD, is an appropriate ending to this album. It is a reflection on Christ’s words to his followers to be “the light for the world” and “the salt of the earth” and to “go to the peoples everywhere and make them my disciples.”

It is the hope of the writer and artists of this work that those who listen to this album will be inspired to spread the faith.

Who better to speak to the youth in all of us than a group of teen singers who are on fire for God and the Catholic faith. This British group is called Faith Alive and is comprised of lead singer, Lauren Lewis, with Daniella Redmond and sisters, Therese and Susie Robertson. Their first CD is a limited edition release entitled, From One Generation to the Next. All the music is new and original and draws on a pop, folk, rock and gospel approach to give the music of the liturgy a modern upbeat feel. These are the songs and prayers that we sing at Mass arranged into a resource that is accessible to young people. It is an exciting way to spread the Catholic faith. For example, "Into Your Hands" explains the offertory, and "We Are Here to Receive" communicates the Catholic teaching of the Real Presence in the Eucharist. The album has got a wonderful celebratory and uplifting feel to it. It's difficult to sit still when listening to tracks like "Bendito seas Señor (Blessed Be God Forever)", with its Spanish lyrics and rhythms, and "If We Can Live in Harmony." "Go Out and Tell the World," the final song on the CD, is an appropriate ending to this album. It is a reflection on Christ's words to his followers to be "the light for the world" and "the salt of the earth" and to "go to the peoples everywhere and make them my disciples." From One Generation to the Next is an excellent teaching tool for Catholic schools and homeschool parents teaching the faith.

The best contemporary music for the Holy Liturgy that I know! It's lively, dignified and heartfelt. A very professional production, that makes you eagerly await Faith Alive's future projects.

Beautiful Melodies peformed by Beautiful Voices 5/7/2005 -
Reviewer: Joe Paiva - UK

This album was sent to me by a friend and I have been so inspired by it that I had to write down my thoughts about it. The CD is full of Beautiful Melodies embraced by simple and effective chord structures with traditional and modern rythmic patterns that gives the 'WORD' a contemporary excitement. The gap between the brilliant quality of the songwriting and singing and the lesser quality of the production is sometimes as wide as the widest River; however, even this cannot come in the way of the sheer inspiration that listening to the CD provides. You can ignore the negatives and get swept away by the positive message of God's Word. I switch it on and it takes me away on a spiritual journey. This is so wonderful.

As a Cathecist for the past 10 years, I have not had so much fun with the First Holy Communion and Confirmation Groups as we did recently. We turned on the CD and Laughed, Danced, Talked And Prayed along with it.

Thank you FAITH ALIVE for "From One Generation To The Next." I look forward to your next release with great joy.

They are going to be Stars 5/16/2005 -
Reviewer: Kathy Selles - California

I look at their picture and listen to their voices and I feel relieved that young people like this have got so much of God's love in their hearts to be able to sing with such conviction. The "Our Father" sends a shiver down my back and "Here to Recieve", although not in a form of modern music that I understand, still captivates me. "Lord have mercy" and "Bendito seas Señor" are lovely songs of pop music too. I was reading one of the other reviews of this album and found the criticisms very harsh.

I am sure that to a professional there might be things that are wrong, but to me, a lay person, this writer has very cleverly with the help of the Holy Spirit, brought a new excitement to the Liturgy without losing the solmnity of it, and the girls, well you have to listen to the whole album to fully appreciate their talent. God bless you all.
