Want to hear someone who is
"Deeply In Love"?
Dawn
Kinsman will tells
you how much she loves God in her five song, limited edition EP/
CD,
True Presence. She does not hide the fact of her
love in the song, "Deeply In Love," a love song
that could be used just as much as a song between a
couple...until you get to the last line: "Jesus...You've stolen
my heart...I'm captivated by you." This CD is a great
mix of jazz and easy rock. Dawn has such a soulful voice that
many of you may have heard on EWTN's Life On The Rock show.
She is a busy lady with Youth Catholic Life Outreach--a
three-fold ministry of prayer, worship, and evangelism, yet she
can play a mean acoustic piano, as she does on the song
"Happy". It makes you wonder if she is some kind of
a Wonder Woman, Ms. Marvel, or Super Woman. "I'm not a
Super Woman... I am just a work of God," Dawn sings in her
song "Super (Prov. 31) Woman". Since this is a
limited edition--grab it!
One of the
greatest stories in the Bible is the love that the Mother had
for the Son. Mary is such a awesome model for ALL mankind. It
is
the kind of love we should have towards God. Unconditional
love!
Gretchen
Harris
has
captured
a snippet of
this love in her CD,
Sing Of
Mary. She has such a classic sound---
Windham Hill-ish, and she
should. She was in the Loyola Marymount University Chorus. Her
trained vocals comes in loudly on "I Sing A Maid,"
one of the many songs on this CD that tells the story of Our
Lady. The CD is full of classic Marian tunes like "Ave
Maria", "Hail Mary, Gentle Woman", and
"Immaculate Mary". Gretchen's voice mixes with stunning
classic guitar, flutes and piano. Gretchen says it best in the
song "Sweet Mary:" "Sweet Mary, in you I see
God's Love..."
Speaking of
classical music there is one artist you must hear.
AnnaMaria
mixes classical guitar with her Spanish culture and comes up
with stunning songs of praise.
Every one of her CD's tells a story--and no words are used.
Quinceanera
is almost AnnaMaria's own story, since it has many of the
classic Mexican folk melodies that are used even today.
These are songs that she started playing with her first
wooden toy at the age of three. She began a career as a solo
classical and flamenco guitarist at thirteen. As with all
her CD's it is just her and the guitar, gentle and
beautiful. You want world music?? Buy this one!
AnnaMaria's Santa Fe Silver is another CD that tells a story in
music, but without words. It is the story of Fray Alonso de
Benavides, a Franciscan, who brought to Santa Fe, New Mexico,
an image of the Madonna dressed like an exquisite Palestinian
princess. Eventually, the Madonna was transformed into altered
appearances and titles. A centuries-old tradition of uninterrupted
veneration has continued when, each fall, Santa Fe celebrates
Fiestas. This Madonna is symbolic of a mother's love and
protection of all her children. Love is a language that needs
no words, like AnnaMaria's music.
