Tony Martinez is a native of San
Antonio, Texas and one of 15 children. He and his wife Charlotte
have one son, Matthew.
Tony is a Physical Therapist Assistant at
Medical Center Physical Therapy, specializing in orthopedic and sports medicine
disorders. He is the founder of the "Carry The Light" Project. This project
produced a CD that raised $55,000 to help with the construction of St. Anthony's
Children's Hospital in Umanama, Nigeria, Africa, which opened in August of 2002.
Tony's CD was produced by Three Time Grammy
Award Winner, Marius Perron. The CD featured George Strait's drummer, Mike
Kennedy, Ray Price's fiddle player, Bobby Flores, and metal drummer for "Halford",
Bobby Jarzombeck.
Tony's music can be heard on the video entitled
"Will You Carry The Light" produced by Obiate Media which is located near St.
Louis, MO. Proceeds from the video went toward Obiate Missionary work throughout
the country.
The song "Carry The Light", written by John
David Martinez, is featured on the documentary video entitled "The Appalachian
Project". The video shows high school students from St. Dominic's in O'Fallon,
Missouri helping underprivileged children in the mountains of Kentucky.
