Agnus Dei is a dynamic,
energetic, 8 piece Catholic Praise and Worship band that brings a cutting edge
sound of contemporary worship to the Catholic Church. Founded by youth and
family minister Dave Kinsman, Agnus Dei inspires and challenges others to live
as His Creation, reflecting glory back to God.
The Eucharist is the
source and summit of our faith. What helps us journey to that summit and embrace
the fullness and beauty of our faith? Worshipping our God. Drawing near to
Him. Seeking Him. Knowing Him. Agnus Dei desires to draw others into a deeper
relationship with the Creator through His music.
The Band
Dave Kinsman is from
Pierre, South Dakota. He is lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and founder of
Agnus Dei. Dave has submerged himself in full-time ministry within and for the
Catholic Church. He has served well over 15 years as a youth minister and most
recently, as Director of Catholic Life Outreach – a three-fold comprehensive,
evangelistic ministry to youth, families and adults. Rooted within the Diocese
of Eastern South Dakota and especially through two Catholic parishes, Dave has
reached thousands upon thousands of people with the Gospel of Jesus Christ
through conferences, camps, retreats, parish missions, youth events and much
more. Dave has traveled extensively as front man and guitarist, has offered
workshops and seminars on worship, and has become highly sought after for
countless conferences and festivals. Agnus Dei was formed through a calling the
Lord put on Dave’s heart to bring cutting edge worship to the Catholic Church.
Dawn Kinsman is from Pierre,
South Dakota and married to Dave. They have four young boys. Dawn and Dave
have led worship in parishes and at varying events for more than a decade,
having always shared this musical journey. Presently, she is lead vocalist for
Agnus Dei as well as a solo Contemporary Christian recording artist. Dawn has
received numerous industry accolades including nominations by the United
Catholic Music and Video Association for new artist of the year, artist of the
year and female artist of the year, 2000. She placed in the top ten in her
category in the national competition at the Christian Artist’s Seminar in the
Rockies in 1999. Dawn has shared her music and ministry across the U.S., in
Nova Scotia, Canada, in Northern Germany, and in Italy at World Youth Day 2000.
Twice she has appeared on EWTN’s Life on the Rock with Jeff Cavins. Welcomed by
massive crowds at festivals, conferences and concert events, Dawn’s great gift
is her humility and her desire not to be a “star” sort of person. Her
incredible energy, enthusiasm and depth of worship are absolutely contagious.
Her album, “True Presence”, a limited edition EP, was released in 2000 to
an overwhelmingly positive response.
Dan Lindhom is from
Milbank, South Dakota and is lead keyboardist for Agnus Dei. He is owner of and
engineer for Audioplex Productions in Milbank as well as master engineer at
Depot Productions in Mobridge, South Dakota. He is keyboardist for a praise and
worship group in his home church and feels a real call on his life to play
keyboards in a way that draws people closer to God. Dan is a seasoned musician,
producer and sound engineer. Having spent many years learning the intricacies
of studio recording and mastering, Dan’s gifts are great and varied. He cites
Andrae Crouch, Michael W. Smith, Fred Hammond, Brian Oliver and Rory Hoffman as
his favorite keyboard influences.
Rory Hoffman is from Lemmon,
South Dakota. In live concert settings, Rory is lead guitarist for the band.
In the studio, he is primary arranger of Agnus Dei material and continually
draws from his astounding ability to play sixteen different instruments. Having
mastered all of them, Rory is a true genius! Rory is also Grand Champion of the
25th Annual Christian Artist’s Seminar in the Rockies Instrumental
competition. He has extensive background in a great many musical styles and
genres. Rory and his family travel together in music ministry in addition to
Rory’s having a solo recording career. His debut album, “Blind Faith in Hymn”
was released in 2000. The album is an instrumental collection of new and
contemporary – even wonderfully surprising – arrangements of traditional
hymns.
Doug Rezac is from Aberdeen,
South Dakota and is Agnus Dei’s drummer and percussionist. Doug’s greatest
influences are his daughters, Amie and JoAnna and wife Ly (Lee). He has a very
extensive music history, having been on the road with a number of bands as
guitarist and drummer. Mark Cranney of Jethro Tull, Gino Vanelli and Eric
Clapton are only a few of Doug’s many musical influences. He is presently in
his 18th year as percussion manager at Taylor Music in Aberdeen. In
that capacity, Doug has instructed countless percussion and drumming workshops
in a variety of settings. Though he has spent much time as a studio drummer,
Doug much prefers live settings so that he can see the emotion of the people and
help bring them to a place of truly knowing Christ.
Tim Gross is from Spearfish,
South Dakota and is bassist for the band. Tim’s bass playing began seriously in
1977 as he entered college and met all kinds of musicians and music majors with
a variety of taste and music backgrounds. About that time, Tim and Doug Rezac
became great friends and worked together professionally for two decades, playing
in various bands and honing their already incredible rhythm section skills. Tim
converted to the Catholic Church in 1986 through a dynamic priest, met the
Kinsman’s – also members of the parish, and the rest, as they say, is history.
Michelle Kindle is originally
from Pierre, South Dakota and is currently a double major in music and
elementary education at the University of Mary in Bismarck, North Dakota. She
is a back up singer for Agnus Dei and has contributed her considerable vocal and
piano gifts to leading worship in several parishes. She is currently on staff
at a Bismarck Church as Choral Director in addition to traveling with Agnus
Dei.
Angie Iverson is from Pierre and is also a back
up singer for the band. She is presently pursuing a degree in Spanish from
South Dakota State University. Coming from a bi-cultural family, it is her
passion to minister to the Hispanic community. Angie is very involved in campus
Newman Center activities and has volunteered her time as counselor for a great
number of youth events through the years.
