There comes a time for all of us when we stop and
ask,” What am I doing with my life?” More importantly we should be
asking,” What am I doing with my life for God?” That is exactly
the question that started Keith Roberts on a mission. “I knew
that I had Jesus in my life but looking from the outside you
wouldn’t of always known it. He was continually blessing me with
his love and forgiveness but I wasn't always sharing that love
with others. I had to stop and ask myself what I was truly seeking
in this life. I realized that God’s way is the best way and that’s
when he blew me away!”
Keith started to write music as a way to deal with
his frustrations with the world and with himself. Yes, He made the
decision to live his life for Christ, but he soon realized that his
struggles were far from over. “I really had to tear myself open and
look inside because life was beating me down. I still struggled with
feelings of failure and worthlessness. Satan knows how to get to me.
I now know that God even uses these times to rebuild us into a
servant for Him.”
Keith realized that God was using the lyrics of songs
to heal his own brokenness. He was able to find the peace of Christ
in music and in lyrics. His spiritual life was growing and so were
the songs he was writing. He felt the call to share his music with
others.
“It’s
kinda funny for me to reflect upon because I really felt like God
was calling me to share my music with others; And I was like trying
to tell God no, because I’m not worthy, and He was saying, “I know
your not, but do it anyway.” I never dreamed that God would use me
in ministry because I’m just such a mess sometimes. I learned that
its not about me, its about Jesus and all I have to do is be
faithful to Him.”
Since then Keith has been sharing the message of the
Gospel with all who will listen. He released a CD with a group
called Chasing7. After touring for one year the group was forced to
dismember. Now Keith is preparing to release a solo album titled
“Deeper”. Keith feels God is calling all of us to go deeper in
our faith. Keith hopes for us all to have faith enough to walk on
water, but for now just learning to swim has been enough to keep
(him) busy!!
