Vision

Jonathan Smith is a lawyer, what more can we say? Quite a bit actually. He was born and brought up in Leeds and now lives in Derby.

He has written several privately published short stories in addition to writing the libretto and lyrics for Vision.

Jonathan is a committed Francophile, - he speaks fluent French and lived for 5 years near Toulouse. He wrote much of Vision from his home there.

He is married with two young children.

Dom Hartley wrote the music for Vision while working as a TV news reporter. He is a freelance journalist, but music is his passion.

He has entertained on the piano in bars across Europe and worked for two years as a pianist in the ski resort of Val d’Isere. He is the keyboard player for the immensely popular London based 29 Fingers and is one of the band’s songwriters.

He lives in London with his wife Clare.

Bernadette - Phoebe Fildes

There is no doubt that Phoebe has one of the most stunning voices for her age in the country. Listen to the Vision CD for proof!

She has taken part in many musical theatre productions and, at the age of 10, was given the leading role in the Castaway Youth Theatre’s production of Bugsy Malone.

She has sung with the children’s choir in Joseph at the Opera House in Manchester and has also taken part in various projects with the National Youth Music Theatre. This included a performance at the Trade Union Conference for the Prime Minister and other politicians.

In March 2002, Phoebe won ‘Musical Theatre Young Singer of the Year’, and in 2003 won ‘Alderly Junior Young Singer of the Year’.

She has played the violin since she was 4 years old and the piano since she was 7. Phoebe recorded the songs for Vision at the age of 13.

Narrator and Peyramale -Steve Balsamo

Steve’s has had an incredible career that spans both pop and musicals. Steve won the role of Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar from thousands who auditioned. His performance was a revelation, the reviews superb and his face was seen on bus shelters across the capital. On one television performance he not only moved Andrew Lloyd Webber to tears, but also managed to sell £160,000 worth of tickets to Superstar in half an hour! Let’s hope he can do the same for Vision!

Steve soon signed to Sony Records and started writing and recording his first album.

His debut single, “Sugar for the Soul,” hit the charts last year from his album “All I am.” He is now working with the band The Sunflower.
