Sarah Bauer

Called to be
Uniquely
Different lives
We all gotta shine

Every part’s a little different, every heart beats its own way
He has given us the freedom, use our gifts to radiate
Free to be, free to shine, free to give our entire lives
Oh nothing is by chance,
Yeah, Yeah, let’s shine our radiance

As reflected in the words of her new song “Radiance”, Sarah Bauer is using the incredible gifts God has given her, a heart for service and a voice of faith, to inspire and uplift others along life’s journey.

Sarah’s musical story started at a young age in her hometown of Carmel, Indiana, where her parents nurtured her and younger brother Ben. She was “discovered” as a fifth grader when she wowed crowds at a school talent show. Emerging from that experience, through the encouragement of a teacher and lovingly supportive parents, Sarah’s passion for making music took wing. Sarah’s school years were filled with participation in choirs, youth ministry, and musical theater. By the time she graduated from Purdue University with a Bachelor’s degree in English, Sarah had already decided to pursue a career in music and had released her first CD, Delighting in Dreams.

Building upon the success of Delighting in Dreams, Sarah Bauer launched her Dare to Dream ministry with the goal of challenging young people to dream big and to recognize the great plans that God has for their lives. Sarah’s sophomore album, Lead Me Home, showed evolution in both her artistry and her personal spirituality. Ranging from poignant ballads such as the title track to edgy rock hits like “Mary’s Got My Back”, the project was produced by Mike Ofca’s Innovations Studio in Stuebenville, Ohio. Lead Me Home again underscored Sarah’s theme of seeing our lives as hope-filled fulfillments of God’s incredible promises.

Radiance is Sarah Bauer’s most recent release and the culmination of a period of intense preparation, writing and prayer. In describing her message for concert audiences, Sarah Bauer has shared that our God wants each of us to find and live out what we do best and to do everything for His glory. With the August 2007 release of her third CD, Radiance, Bauer underscores this theme loud and clear. Featuring eleven original tracks by Sarah Bauer and writing partner Christopher Sansone, Radiance was produced in Nashville by accomplished recording engineer Todd Robbins.

As a precursor to the writing and production of Radiance, Sarah Bauer immersed herself in another creative endeavor: the creation of a video magazine. The end results, which can be seen at www.SarahBauer.tv, are stunning. In an introduction to the magazine, Sarah calls the project a “reality show” of sorts – an insider’s peek into her music ministry. The four videos in the series examine four different vocations and share Bauer’s thoughts and comments with the end goal of her composition of a song. In each of the videos, Sarah walks through the day with someone called to live out his or her unique walk in life. This impact-filled video series is now available for purchase through Outside Da Box, a youth ministry media provider and is perfect for youth and young adult ministry audiences.

On her Radiance album, Sarah’s title track “Radiance” was the fruit of this video labor of love and the last song on the album to be written. Based upon the Matthew 5:14 reference which exhorts “a city on a hill cannot be hidden,” Sarah encourages each of us to use our own unique gifts and abilities to shine God’s love and glory.

Another hit on Radiance is “Extraordinary”, which looks inside the hearts of two disparate souls, both longing to find the meaning in their own existence. An artistically brilliant but troubled teen and a mother burdened by the mundane details of her vocation beg God to accept the meager offerings of their everyday lives as offerings of unending love and devotion.

Take my ordinary, like water into wine
Create extraordinary, transform this life of mine
These gifts are Yours, use them for Your glory
Take me, make me
Extraordinary

Bauer cites St. Therese of Lisieux and Mother Teresa as two of her greatest spiritual influences – their inspiration is quite tangible in “Extraordinary” and many of the other songs on Radiance.

“Outside Looking In” is an anthem written for Sarah’s friends and others who may not truly recognize the incredible ways in which God is using their lives to yield amazing results.

Sarah’s partner in music, in ministry and in life is her fiancé Christopher Sansone. A brilliant musician and strong support to Sarah, Sansone contributes to Sarah Bauer’s work not only as a writing partner, but also as a trusted consultant and advisor. Christopher Sansone and Sarah Bauer are currently planning for and anticipating their April 2008 wedding and their married life together.

The success of Sarah Bauer’s albums and her popular appeal to audiences has enabled her to embark upon a career as a full time musician and well-known speaker and performer. Through her travels around the country, Sarah is making the most of her amazing talents to inspire and encourage fans young and old with a message of living out God’s call with joy and passion.

Sarah Bauer is well known in youth ministry circles for the power of her performances and her ability to touch the hearts and minds of young people with her music. Having traveled worldwide and performed to audiences of all ages, Sarah’s energy, her passion for her calling, and her drive to inspire others are all hallmarks of her music ministry.

Sarah Bauer continues to personally connect with audiences at youth rallies, churches and conferences and welcomes the opportunity to share her message that each of us can shine in our own unique way, that each of us is indeed extraordinary.
