Bernie brings
more than his contemporary Christian music to his ministry. His
willingness to serve the young and dedication to the Lord through
the years comes from a burning desire to simply want to follow the
way and proclaim the truth. Bernie's journey back to the Catholic
Church has been blessed, despite the inevitable challenges.
Although a successful career in music was always his dream, he'd
soon find out that God had big plans for how he would use his
gifts.
Bernie's renewal in his faith left in him a desire to evangelize.
"I think teens can see what's real and what isn't. Just give them
the truth! Something they can sink their teeth and hearts into!"
In the past 8 years he has told his story and has sung his songs
for thousands of youth in the New England area, including over 100
parishes in the Boston area alone. There, Bernie works full time
directing and playing for parishes, retreats, rallies, conventions
and other youth related events often leading him across the
country. Bernie constantly looks forward to his writing and
recording and enjoys the love and support of his wife and
daughters.
Bernie is the music director for St. Mary's Life Teen in Foxboro,
MA and director of music for all liturgies at Resurrection Parish
in Hingham, MA. Bernie is an artist for Heartbeat Records and
belongs to CAM (Catholic Association of Musicians), a networking
group for Contemporary Catholic artists. Some of Bernie's credits
include Steubenville East in Attleboro, MA.; opening for Jars of
Clay at Foxboro Stadium and performing at Fenway Park at Jubilee
2000 for 15,000 young people where his song "I'll Be Your Child"
was chosen as the theme song for the event. Bernie also enjoyed
ministering in Rome, where he went on pilgrimage with 800 of
Boston's young people for World Youth Day. His performances in
Rome included a Catechetical session at St. Paul Outside The Walls
Basilica, a concert segment for the Word Records stage and a Life
Teen concert at the Spanish Steps. Bernie was also asked to
minister and perform at the National Catholic Youth Convention at
the RCA Dome in Indianapolis and, most recently participated at
World Youth Day in Toronto.
