Fr.
Edward James Richard is a Catholic priest and a member of the
Missionaries of Our Lady of LaSalette.
He is the Director of the Paul VI Institute of Catechetical
and Pastoral Studies in St. Louis, Missouri, and is a professor of
Moral Theology at Kenrick-Glennon Seminary.
He began playing music as a child, growing up in Southwest
Louisiana, and was exposed not only to Cajun music but to the
sounds of Bluegrass as well.
He attributes the major influences in his music to the
old-time mountain sounds of Ralph and Carter Stanley.
The gospel music of Ralph Stanley has had a formative
impact on his life and ministry. |
